May 2021 Blood Drive in Radnor Township, PA

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who supported the 10th Annual Carol H. Axelrod Memorial Blood Drive in Radnor Township on May 4!

We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to all of you, we collected an incredible 169 units of blood products. That’s enough to help more than 500 hospital patients receive lifesaving transfusions in the days and weeks ahead!

We deeply appreciate the help and support that we received for this drive. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in an ongoing, critical need for blood donations, as many blood drives that typically run at high schools, colleges, and businesses have been canceled or greatly reduced in size, and your support has ensured that blood products will be available for patients who need them in the late spring and early summer months. Whether you were already familiar with us or you were attending our drive for the first time, we are grateful to all of you!

We are also very happy that the drive was able to raise awareness of and support for the 10 local nonprofit organizations that were beneficiaries of our “10 for 10” Community CHAllenge for this milestone blood drive. For more information about these organizations or the Community CHAllenge program itself, please visit our Community CHAllenge page.

As of now, our next large community blood drive is scheduled to take place on October 7 at the Haverford Township Community Recreation & Environmental Center (CREC).  We will keep everyone up to date on the details of this drive via email and our website. We also invite you to follow us on Twitter (@CHABloodDrive), Facebook (@CHABloodDrive), and Instagram (@cha_blooddrive).

It was wonderful for us to be able to greet so many donors in person again. Thank you all for helping us continue to save lives!

Thank you to the organizations and media outlets that helped us spread the word about the drive, and to the local merchants who contributed refreshments or graciously accommodated our requests to process gift cards for our drawing prizes!
