Ways to Help

Of course, the most important way you can help is by donating blood at one of our blood drives.  In 2017, we will be holding four blood drives: at the Shipley School (Bryn Mawr, PA) in February, in Radnor Township in May, in the Upper Gwynedd/Lansdale area in July, and at Lankenau Medical Center in October.  If you would like information about any of our drives, please click here.

If you would like to help out with the blood drive in a different way, there are many opportunities for you to get involved! If you are interested in assisting with the drive in any of the ways described below, we’d love to hear from you. Simply email us at info@chablooddrive.org and we will provide you with more information.

SPONSOR.

Carol devoted herself to her family members, always making sure that they felt special. As a tribute to her, we like to do some small things to make our blood drives special, too. Everyone who comes to donate will receive a gift bag, good food, and free entry into a prize drawing. In the past, thanks to our generous sponsors, we have been able to offer drawing prizes ranging from gift cards and jewelry to books and tickets to sporting events. Other sponsors have donated food, beverages, or items for the gift bags. You can learn more about our sponsors by visiting the Previous Blood Drives page of our website.

VOLUNTEER.

We would welcome company on the day of the blood drive! If you are interested in assisting with donor check-in or in handing out refreshments, please let us know. After a brief training session, you will be all set to join us!

PUBLICIZE.

Do you have contacts at newspapers or at radio or TV stations? If you can put us in touch with them, we can really get the word out to the public. And please let your friends, relatives, and colleagues know about the blood drive. The more donors who join us, the more patients who can be helped!

Transfusions of blood and platelets were an essential part of Carol’s treatment during her fight against multiple myeloma. She received numerous transfusions, sometimes on a daily basis, and our family learned first hand about the invaluable service that blood donors provide. Now, in Carol’s memory, we want to help other families enjoy more time with their loved ones by holding these blood drives and helping to save lives!

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you are interested in helping with the drives in any way. Simply email us at info@chablooddrive.org!
