Thank you for your support of the Carol H. Axelrod Memorial Blood Drive in 2016! Thanks to you, we were able to help almost 1,400 hospital patients spend more time with their loved ones. You have also made it possible for our blood drive to continue to grow. We are very excited to announce that in 2017 we will hold our first winter blood drive!

Our next blood drive will take place on Friday, February 24, 2017 at The Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, PA. Registration is now available—please see below.

This will be our first winter blood drive, and the first time we have worked with the Shipley School. This drive is open to the public, and everyone who comes to donate will receive a gift bag, special refreshments, and more!

                Date:     February 24, 2017

                Time:    9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
                         (appointments may be scheduled at 15-minute intervals between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.)

Thanks to you, in 2016 the Carol H. Axelrod Memorial Blood Drive:

* Collected 466 units of blood, enough to help almost 1,400 hospital patients
* Surpassed the milestone of 2,500 cumulative units collected since our first blood drive in 2008
* Doubled the length of our summer blood drive, enabling us to help more patients during a critical time of year
* Welcomed 39 first-time blood donors
* Raised awareness and support for six local nonprofit organizations through our Community CHAllenge program

Blood products must be on the shelves, and ready to use, before they are needed—and the need is constant. We hope that you will continue to donate blood throughout the winter months, when shortages often occur.

Thank you again for your help, your support, and your commitment to saving lives!

The Carol H. Axelrod Memorial Blood Drive was created as a way of “giving back” to the blood-donor community that made it possible for Carol to receive all of the blood and platelet transfusion she needed during her treatment for cancer. Our mission is to help other patients and their families spend more time together by doing our part to ensure that blood products are always available for those who need them. Our goal is to help the blood donors at our drives have an enjoyable and positive donation experience.
