June 2020 Blood Drive in Radnor Township, PA
Many, many thanks to everyone who attended the Carol H. Axelrod Memorial Blood Drive in Radnor Township on June 16! We can’t tell you how grateful we are to you for your commitment to donating blood and helping patients and families throughout our region, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to all of you, we collected 119 units of blood products. That’s enough to help as many as 357 hospital patients receive lifesaving transfusions in the days and weeks ahead!
As some of you know, we began holding blood drives in Carol’s memory in 2008. Last week’s drive was our 9th annual blood drive in Radnor Township and our 32nd blood drive overall, but it was the first time that we were not able to be at the drive throughout the day to greet all donors ourselves. We missed seeing everybody!
We very much appreciate the flexibility that all of our donors and supporters showed with regard to the date and location changes for this drive. Despite the unusual circumstances, we are very pleased that the drive not only saved lives but also raised support for Radnor Fire Company/Radnor Ambulance, the Wayne Food Pantry, and the Live Like Blaine Foundation. We appreciate having the opportunity to highlight the essential work that these organizations are doing in our community.
If you are a regular donor at our family’s drives, we look forward to being able to see you again and offer the gift bags, prize drawings, and special refreshments of our “normal” blood drives. If last week was the first time you were donating at one of our drives, we hope to greet you at a future drive!
We are very grateful to all of our supporters. We thank you for your commitment to helping patients who need transfusions, and we sincerely hope that we will be able to see many of you in person at one of our blood drives later this year. In the meantime, we wish you and your families a safe, healthy, and happy summer!
