April 2022 Blood Drive at The Shipley School
The very last Carol H. Axelrod Memorial Blood Drive was held at The Shipley School and was open only to the Shipley community. The student Blood Drive Committee, led by our daughter, was responsible for promoting the drive, recruiting donors and volunteers, and running the event. The committee did an incredible job, and our daughter thanked the students, faculty, and parents who participated:
Thank you so much for your support of the Carol H. Axelrod Memorial Blood Drive at Shipley last Friday! Based on preliminary totals, we were able to collect 51 units of blood, and those units have the potential to provide lifesaving transfusions for up to 153 people!
We were honored to partner with Shipley for this drive and also to dedicate it to the memory of Jackie Myers Simms. We are glad to have been able to honor both my grandmother and Jackie with this event. We want to say a huge THANK YOU to every student, colleague, and family member who donated blood, volunteered, or contributed refreshments.
