October 2018 Blood Drive at Lankenau Medical Center
Many, many thanks to everyone who supported the 11th Annual Carol H. Axelrod Memorial Blood Drive at Lankenau Medical Center on October 15 and 16.
Thanks to your commitment, as many as 750 patients will be able to receive lifesaving transfusions in the days and weeks ahead!
We were inspired to start holding blood drives in 2008 because Carol required countless blood and platelet transfusions at Lankenau while fighting cancer. Thanks to the support of so many generous blood donors since then, the blood drives in Carol’s memory have now collected enough blood products to have helped more than 12,000 recipients. Your dedication and generosity have made it possible for thousands of families like ours to spend more time with their loved ones!
Even during this drive, we heard stories from donors whose families have been personally touched by blood transfusions. Blood products must be on the shelves and ready to use before they are needed—and the need is constant.
It is incredibly inspiring to see so many people donating blood, and all of you motivate us to continue to build on Carol’s legacy by helping even more patients. Our family’s next drive is planned for March 1, 2019, at The Shipley School in Bryn Mawr. We hope to see you there!
Once again, we extend our most heartfelt thanks to all of you for your help, your support, and your commitment to saving lives!
Thank you to all of the extremely generous businesses and organizations that supported the October 2018 blood drive!
Special thanks also go to the numerous friends and family members whose contributions of time, ideas, drawing prizes, and support provided an enormous boost to our efforts. The blood drive could not have been successful without all of them!
