October 2017 Blood Drive at Lankenau Medical Center
Many, many thanks to everyone who supported the 10th Annual Carol H. Axelrod Memorial Blood Drive at Lankenau Medical Center on October 9 and 10!
We are thrilled to announce that 282 units of blood were collected at the drive, meaning that as many as 846 patients will be able to receive lifesaving transfusions.
Many of you know that we were inspired to start holding blood drives in 2008 because Carol required countless blood and platelet transfusions while fighting cancer.
Thanks to the support of so many generous blood donors since then, our blood drives in Carol’s memory have now collected enough blood products to have helped more than 10,000 people.
We are so excited to reach this milestone, and we are truly grateful for your support. Your generosity and commitment have made it possible for thousands of families like ours to spend more time with their loved ones.
Even during this drive, we were hearing stories from donors whose families have been personally touched by blood transfusions. Blood products must be on the shelves and ready to use before they are needed—and the need is constant.
It is incredibly inspiring to see so many people donating blood, and all of you motivate us to continue to build on Carol’s legacy by helping even more patients in the future.
Once again, we extend our most heartfelt thanks to all of you for your help, your support, and your commitment to saving lives!
Thank you to all of the extremely generous businesses and organizations that supported the October 2017 blood drive!
Special thanks also go to the numerous friends and family members whose contributions of time, ideas, drawing prizes, and support provided an enormous boost to our efforts. The blood drive could not have been successful without all of them!
